Stroller Seat: What do you need to know?

A proper stroller seat is essential for your child's comfort. It should be well padded with
good support and headrests, and be able to recline fully. Many real jogging strollers usually
have a 'sling-style' seat which allows the stroller to be light, but offers little back support.
The all-terrain and urban models tend to have sturdier seats.

INFANTS vs. TODDLERS Infants old enough to use a stroller should be able to lie completely flat during the run. For toddlers, the seat should be adjustable to fully upright position, so that they can sit up straight. In addition, toddlers need appropriate room depending on their size. |

DIMENSIONS & SIZE: The stroller seat back should be about 20 inches high, and the seat bottom about 10 inches, and knee to foot distance around 12 inches. This may seem like too much information - but if you buy a stroller with seats alot smaller than this, then large toddlers will find it very uncomfortable, or regular sized toddlers will grow out of it very quickly. |

HARNESS
&
STRAPS: Of course, every good seat comes with a 5-point harness which allows you to strap your child in safely. A good harness will have two shoulder straps, two waist straps, and one crotch strap, and a good deal of padding. Buckles should be easy for parents to unlock, but difficult for the little one to unfasten. |
