Well, it depends how you are going to use it.  Get a three wheeler stroller if:
  • you are planning to run, jog, or power walk
  • you have to deal with rough trails and bumpy pavements
  • you need to carry or push alot of weight (child + groceries + other stuff)
  • you need something that stands up to alot of punishment

Where is the best place to purchase a running stroller?

  • You can find them in big box stores and in online shops.  Both have their advantages, but the big box shops usually have a poor selection.
  • Online stores have a much better selection and way better prices.  Since many of these stores only sell strollers, their staff tend to be much more knowlegeable.  Almost all of them have live customer service help, and reliable warranty programs

Well, that depends on your budget and your purposes:

  • For serious runners: Baby Jogger Performance, Chariot CX1, BoB Ironman
  • For bargain hunters: Schwinn Joyrider, Schwinn Free Runner
  • For trails and hiking: BoB SUS Sport

image How early can I start jogging with my child?

The safest answer is: check with your pediatrician FIRST!  Many experts say that 6 months is the cutoff.  But bear in mind that babies need adequate neck support and should be able to lie completely flat in the seat.

Also they are not able to properly regulate their temperature, so you need to protect them from over-heating on long runs.

However, you have to make the final call here: as a parent, that is your main job!

number 5 When is a child too old to ride in a stroller?

It depends on your child's size and temperament!  You'll have to stop when the child becomes too large to fit in the stroller, or when she has had enough of sitting still!

At around age 4, (or about 80 lbs) most kids are either to heavy or too tall for a jogger.  Most single running strollers have a maximum safe limit of around 75lbs and become unbalanced or tippy when loaded up beyond this limit.

Will my child like riding in a jogging stroller?

Most kids do one of two things: they either go to sleep, or they have a good ole time watching the world go by.

But your child may be different!  Borrow a friend's jogger and take your little one for a spin before you buy to see if she likes it.

Does it matter what kind of wheels my stroller has?

Yes.  The size and type of wheel will determine how you use your stroller. Get:

  • bigger wheels (16", 20") have an easier push and a smooth glide
  • smaller wheels (12") are more maneuverable, but unsuitable for running
  • fixed front wheels are recommended for jogging but are harder to turn
  • swivel front wheels are better for maneuvering in crowded spaces

Will children have difficulty breathing underneath the rain canopy?

No they won't (if the canopy is properly attached as per manufacturers instructions).  Canopies are fitted with vents to allow air to circulate freely through the stroller

Can you push a single child in a double running stroller?

If you have bought a quality stroller - then the answer is YES.   The higher end models are designed to be balanced with uneven weight loads.

However, if you have a lower-end brand or you are rolling on wet grass or loose stones, the stroller may skew to one side.  You can even things up by placing some weight in the empty passenger seat or in the under-seat basket on the free side

Is it safe to roller-blade with a jogging stroller?

No!  We think its kind of dangerous, and here's why: When you stumble, or hit a bump, your instinct will be to grab hold of something to keep your balance.  Nine times out of ten, you will grab onto the stroller to steady yourself, and then you and the stroller will tip over.

You can't go wrong with be being too safe with your infant!
